Wouldn’t it be nice if there were a way to help keep the extra pounds off? A way that didn’t include hours and hours of grueling exercise or obsessively counting calories? As most of us know, it gets harder and harder to keep the pounds at bay the older we get. Our metabolism naturally slows down and we inevitably end up in cubicle dwelling jobs that create a sedentary lifestyle, while still maintaining, if not increasing, what we eat. That’s all depressing enough, but more and more research points to ways in which we can actually increase or speed up our metabolism, without taking weird diet pills or subjecting ourselves to various dieting regimens. You can actually learn how to boost your metabolism naturally, with a few easy lifestyle modifications.
Doesn’t it seem like some people are just naturally fit and healthy? It almost feels effortless for them…In reality, they have just adopted healthy lifestyle habits into their daily routines that make it easier to get and stay fit. First, I’d like to say that I am not a doctor and I do not play one on the internet. You should always consult your doctor about any medical issues you may be having or any treatments you are considering trying. Depression is no joke and can be a very crippling condition that oftentimes needs counseling or drugs for treatment, or a combination of the two. That being said, if you feel that you are struggling with a more mild case and/or are just feeling a little more down than usual, trying out some of the ways to brighten your mood below might be a great way to start treating mild depression naturally. Some of these natural remedies may be just enough to help get you back on track and avoid medication.
I know I am not alone when I have a complete disdain for hard water stains in my toilet. They are completely frustrating and seemingly impossible to get rid of. I have tried an endless number of toilet bowl cleaners, natural and not so much, but to no avail, nothing worked. It finally dawned on me that there has to be some way that I can scrape the stains off the bowl. After a little research I came upon the easiest hack ever to clean toilet bowl stains naturally – and it actually worked and worked well. I would absolutely give credit to the original person who came up with this ingenious hack, but I honestly don’t know who that person is. There are also a lot of people out there who probably already know this, but since I didn’t, I feel like I should share again.
Meditation is definitely the buzzword of the day. It seems like every program you turn on or magazine you read is touting the benefits of meditation – with good reason. Meditation has been shown to help with everything from stress, anxiety and panic attacks to quitting smoking and curing insomniacs. This is all great news, but can you use meditation for weight loss? Recent research seems to think you can. It makes sense if you think about it – the more relaxed and centered you are, the more in tune with your body you are, so the easier it should be to lose weight, right? I, myself would like to see how meditation and weight loss work together, so I decided to give it a try – for only 5 minutes a day. That is pretty much the extent to which I think I can handle before my brain will wonder in 20,000 different directions.

I’ll be honest; I am not a fan of exercising. Yes, I know I feel great afterwards, but I just really don’t like it. I can always come up with a better plan of drinking a glass of wine on my couch while watching a girlie movie instead. I also don’t enjoy the whole aspect of changing into workout clothes and being generally uncomfortable for 30 minutes, especially after I’ve worked a full day. And, I am definitely not the one who is going to get up any earlier than I already do to exercise before I begin my day. That’s just not going to happen and I know it. I’ve tried, and my snooze button has always won out. All of that being said, I know that exercising is something that is part of being healthy and taking care of myself in general, especially as I get older. So, after a lot of trying to figure out how to actually get myself to exercise, I discovered that having portable exercise equipment around actually works out well for me. Here me out, it is not as crazy or ineffective as you might think.
